Instructional Innovation and Technology will update the certificate used by the university’s wireless authentication server on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 9 p.m. After the certificate is updated, computers and devices will need to re-authenticate and trust a new certificate to connect to the university’s wireless networks. The “GSU”, “GSU-Guest” and “Eduroam” networks will be affected by the change.
What to Expect To help you plan for the change, note the information below related to wireless device connections.
***Unmanaged, End User Devices and Managed Windows Computers After the wireless authentication server certificate is updated, computers and devices that have previously connected to the “GSU” and “Eduroam” networks, will not automatically re-connect. End-users on computers and devices connecting to these networks will be prompted to sign-in as if they are connecting for the first time. As a reminder, users signing into the “GSU” network will use CampusID and CampusID password to log in and users signing into “Eduroam” will use full CampusID email address and CampusID password.
***Other Connected Devices If your unit has printers, copiers or other IoT devices connected to wireless, you will need to prepare to reconnect them after the certificate update.
